37 ANTELOPE [ACTION]

Antelope signifies knowledgeable action. Antelope is a symbol for the antenna of your hair, which attaches you to Great Mystery by its long cords of light. Looking at Antelope, you become aware of your mortality and the short time span you have on this planet. With this in mind, you must act accordingly. Proper action pleases the Great Mystery. Antelope medicine is the knowledge of life’s circle. Knowing of death, Antelope can truly live. action is the key and essence of living.

Antelope powers have been courted and shamanized since the dawn of time. Antelope clans have been many, and the power of Antelope people is great. Antelope medicine gives you strength of mind and heart, and the ability to take quick and decisive action to get things accomplished.

If you feel stymied, call on Antelope medicine. If you are balled up and twisted in knots, Antelope powers will speak to you of proper action and soon set you free. Many ingenious solutions to problems are whispered by Antelope. Listen and even more importantly, act.Surround yourself with the illumination and secret knowledge of Antelope. Combine this with action and you will overcome any obstacle or hindrance in your path. If Antelope is your Centering tree and strong personal medicine, thank Great Spirit. say what should be said. Your judgment is sound and your actions will be successful.

Always listen to what Antelope has to say to you. Antelope in your cards indicates a message of higher purpose. Antelope arms you with the bow of Authority, and forces you to act on behalf of self, family, clan, nation, and finally Mother Earth.  antelope says, “Do it now. Don’t wait aNy longer.” Antelope knows the way, and so do you. Take courage and leap; your sense of timing is perfect. when Antelope was bounded into your cards, the time is now. The power is you.

SACRED PATH:

43 GIVE AWAY [RELEASE]: The Give-Away card spells relief through release. Don’t get stuck holding on to anything that no longer serves you. Associates, ideas, habits, and belongings may need to go at this time. Attachment to attitudes like needing to be needed or liked may no longer serve either. You are being asked to share what you can, give away something that can  help someone else, or just let go. Don’t hold on so tight. The natural flow of life is squelched when you insist on total control. In all cases, the Give-Away card tells us to release any bond that makes us captives of our own creation. In so doing, we can spread our wings and fly. Remember that generosity is a talent and a virtue that comes from dropping the fear of scarcity and from trusting Great Mystery.

SOUTHProtects the child within and reminds you when to be humble and when to trust, so that innocence will be balanced in your personality.  I have found this to be your most primal gifts.

22 BEAVER [BUILDER]: Beaver is the doer in the animal kingdom. Beaver medicine is akin to water and earth energy, and incorporates a strong sense of family and home. If you were to look at the dams that block woodland streams, you would find several entrances and exits. In building its home, Beaver always leaves itself may alternative escape routes. This practice is a lesson to all of us not to paint ourselves into corners. If we eliminate our alternatives, we dam the flow of experience in our lives. A doer is characterized by industriousness, adn Beaver knows that limitation cancels productivity.

Beaver is armed with very sharp teeth that are capable of felling trees. Imagine what those teeth could do to the limbs of predators. From the rear, Beaver is armed with a paddle-like tail that aids in swimming as well as in guarding its behind. This tiny mammal is well equipped to protect its creation.

To understand Beaver medicine, you might take a look at the power of working and attaining a sense of achievement. In building a dream, teamwork is necessary. To accomplish a goal with others involves working with the group mind. Group mind constitutes harmony of the highest order, without individual egos getting in the way. Each partner in the project honors the talents and abilities of the others, and knows how to complete the piece of the puzzle that belongs to them. In working well with others, a sense of community is achieved and unity ensues.

If Beaver has appeared in your spread, it may be time to put your ideas into action or to complete some project that has been neglected. The Beaver card could also be asking you to settle differences with fellow workers or friends. Beaver tells you to look for alternative solutions to life’s challenges and to protect the creations which you put your love and energy into.

Sometimes Beaver brings you a warning to watch your back. If this is your message, you will know it by the position in which the card falls in your spread. If the card falls in the South position, it is to remind your child self that trusting is ok but caution is necessary. Use discernment and all will be fine.

SACRED PATH

9 SOUTH SHIELD (INNOCENCE/INNER CHILD): Returning to that part of yourself that doesn’t need support from the ego. Find where you can be humble in the present situation. Balance work with play and sacredness with irreverence. To continue you have to stop being uptight. This may be a time to get some physical exercise to loosen up tight muscles or to laugh to loosen up your sophisticated garbage. Stop holding on so tight and remember how to trust. How can you trust anything or anyone when the image in the mirror is not really you? In all cases your inner child is trying to teach you something about handling the situation. Listening and trusting the little tike might restore some of the lost magic of life. Remember, playfulness heals a world of woes. The more serious you take the game, the less chance any of us have of winning.

WEST: The animal in the West leads you to your personal truth and inner answers. It also shows you the path in your goals.

REVERSED 10 TURTLE [MOTHER EARTH]: Pulling the Turtle card in the reverse means that Mother Earth is calling you to reconnect in some way. If you have become flippant and  forgotten to place waste in its proper place instead of throwing it out the car window, she is calling. If you have felt alone in your time of need, she is calling. If you have been struggling financially or have little to eat, or if you have desired a child and see no pregnancy in the near future, she is your medicine — use it. You are not alone…ever. You are a child of Earth. all acts of pleasure, joy, and abundance are given by the Mother of the creative force. Use her energy to aid you, and you will be healed enough to share this energy with others.

The idea of a Turtle helplessly trying to right itself after it has been flipped upside down can also symbolize contrary Turtle. You are not a victim, and you are not helpless, no matter how much it may seem like this is the case in your present situation. To right the ill-dignified Turtle, you need only list the things you are grateful for, and from that grateful place in your heart, look for the abundance of alternatives that Mother Earth gives.

SACRED PATH:

39 STONE PEOPLE [RECORDS/KNOWING REVEALED] The Stone People mark a time in which knowing will be revealed to you. Your personal records are held by these libraries of rock. Childhood memories may return and allow you to piece together a part of your personal puzzle. Memories of past lives or deja vu could bring new awareness. Whatever the case, you are now in a position to know where you came from and where you are going.

A Stone Person can assist you in focusing your intent, dispelling confusion, changing habits, retrieving records from long ago, or getting grounded. Allow these teachers to become your Allies and discover a new world. Listen to the whispers of the mineral kingdom and your heart will know.

In all cases, the Stone People card asks you to open your mind because new understanding is coming your way. This knowledge is based on Earth Records and may change the way in which you view life. These ancient friends are the oldest Children of Earth and only ask us to stop and listen.

NORTH: Gives wise counsel and reminds you when to speak and when to listen.  It also reminds you to be grateful for every blessing every day.  I  believe this represents your relationship to personal authority.

33 WEASEL [STEALTH] Weasel has an incredible amount of energy and ingenuity, yet it is a difficult power totem to have. It is not without significance that ermine or weasel pelt is worn by royalty. Weasel ears hear what is really being said. This is a great ability. Weasel eyes see beneath the surface of a situation to know the many ramifications of an event. This too is a rare gift.

The chiefs sent Weasel to the enemy camp to smoke them for power. “What are the medicines of the enemy?” the chiefs asked Weasel upon its return.

Weasel never failed to give an accurate account of the enemy’s numbers, strengths, and weaknesses. It was Weasel who tearfully told the Original People of the coming of the white boat people. “These brothers have strange new medicine.” said Weasel. “They will tell us that to live the way we do is wrong. They will confuse us with their talking bark. They have stolen thunder from Sky Father and placed it in their weapons. They have no respect for the animal brothers and sisters, and they make their thunder speak to the animals and kill them. They will make the thunder speak to us also. Their numbers are too many to count, and these white brothers will steal everything from us but our spirits. The great dark shadow of the ravenous bird of death has fallen over the People.

Weasel fur changes color with the season. Silent Weasel has many lessons to teach you. Weasel could confound Great Spirit, pick Great Spirit’s pockets, and then leave Great Spirit contemplating the divine navel. If this is your personal medicine, your powers of observation are keen. You seem to be saying, “Leave me alone and I will do the same for you.” You might even look a bit guilty at times due to what you know from observing life.

You may be a loner hiding yourself away from others, or perhaps even a recluse. You are a powerful ally to have in any business organization since you can see what the competition is doing. People may make a great mistake in sizing you up since they do not immediately see your powers. But the first time they try to outsmart you, they will soon learn that your intelligence is greater than their own.

Look to Weasel power to tell you the “hidden reasons” behind anything. Some people are put off by Weasel medicine, talent and abilities, but there are no bad medicines. We all have power, or we would not be here to heal Mother Earth. Perhaps if you have Weasel power you could use your secret gifts for the good of all. Observe who or what needs attention, or a solution, and offer your assistance in your own quiet or discreet way.

 SACRED PATH

25 POW WOW (SHARING/QUICKENING): If the Talking Drums have signaled a Pow-Wow, you are being put on notice to get together with others of like mind and exchange ideas. The quickening of some aspect of your life will be aided if you use a support system and see what type of support you can call upon from others.

The Pow-Wow card is marking a time of calling in your markers. You may need assistance or just a friend to be a sounding board. Your focus will become clearer, and you may receive the boost you need just from an encouraging word or two.

The quickening is inside of you and speaks of the time just preceding birth. Whatever you are giving birth to at this time can be assisted by gathering your friends around you for the needed support.

ABOVE: Teaches you how to honor the Great Star Nation; and reminds you that you came from the stars and to the stars you will return.  It is the guardian of the Dreamtime-for your personal access to the other dimensions.

50 ALLIGATOR [INTEGRATION]: The powerful gift of Alligator medicine is to fully appreciate and integrate all that life offers. Gator shows us the value of thoroughly digesting both the pleasures and pains of life. In many ways, Alligator’s medicine is reflected in its behavior. When Gator rolls under the water with its prey, its message is to roll with the punches when being attacked by life’s circumstances. Carefully storing its prey under a log until the meat is tender teaches us about patience and proper timing.

Choosing to laugh when tangled in your own seriousness can immediately diffuse the strangle hold of anger and judgments, self importance and inflexibility. Once your rigidity is removed, you are free to again integrate the present set of circumstances, finding what you may have formerly overlooked. Then you can learn Gator’s lessons on how to digest the value of any life lesson.

Gator medicine people refrain from passing judgment until they have examined all the facts and seen all sides of any situation. It may be time to drop opinions and judgments so that the present situation can be fully understood. Gator might have surfaced in the river of your life to tell you to digest the situation at hand before making any rash moves. You could also be dealing with someone who is too serious or rigid. If this is the case, embrace your flexibility, knowing that you are expanding beyond your former limits, even if others are wallowing in their self-created quicksand.

Have you been rushing through life and not taking the time to count your victories or ot digest your Rites of Passage? If so, it could be time to honor your progress, mindful that quick-fix solutions do not support long-term goals. Avoid getting stuck in the duality and quagmire of the human judgment game. Use calm resolve, review your healing process and life lessons, integrating the growth you have attained.

In all cases, Gator is telling you that something may have escaped your perception. Ask yourself what viewpoint or possibility did not get factored into your assessment. Did that missing piece of the puzzle keep you from having an accurate overview of what is now occurring? If so, it is never to late to reevaluate the situation from a more integrated and flexible point of view. Remember, Gator’s eyes and nostrils are often the only parts of its body above water while it senses its surroundings. Gator integrates all probabilities before it makes its move.

SACRED PATH

12 ARROW (TRUTH AS PROTECTION): You are being asked to find the truth of your present situation. You can protect yourself from uncomfortable situations by using the truth as a protection. It does not matter what others thing of you. You know the truth. When you honor that truth, you cannot be hurt by the lies of others.

Arrow also speaks of the ideas of Brotherhood. This is to say that you must armor yourself with the good intent and truthfulness of those you wish to associate with. Drop those who would no longer honor your path or truth. Remember: Arrow is straight and always says, “Stay on The Sacred Path.”

BELOW: Teaches you about the inner Earth, and how to stay grounded and on the path.

36 LIZARD [DREAMING] Lizard medicine is the shadow side of reality where your dreams are reviewed before you decide to manifest them physically.

Lizard is the medicine of dreamers. Whether dreamers smoke you or dream yo, dreamers can always help you see the shadow. this shadow can be your fears, your hopes, or the very thing you are resisting, but it is always following you around like an obedient dog.

If Lizard dreamed a space in your cards today, it may be time to look and see what is following along behind you. Is it your fears, your future trying to catch up to you or is it the part of you that wants to ignore your weaknesses and humanness?

Lizard may be telling you to pay attention to your dreams and their symbols. Make a dream log and record all that you remember. Be sure to pay attention to each individual symbol or recurring pattern. If you do not remember your dreams, you could try setting a music alarm for 2:00 a.m. Or you could try drinking a lot of water before bedtime and allow your bladder to wake you up. Dreams are very important. Pay attention to them.

SACRED PATH

40 SMOKING MIRROR (REFLECTIONS): The Great Smoking Mirror reflects the lesson of leaving the myth behind. You are what you decide you are. Remove the smoke screen that hides your natural talents of worth, and stand tall. Recognize the areas to be developed further and begin that process. Stop cowering before your potential and live your truth. There are millions of role models to choose from.

On another level you are being asked to be a good reflection for others. Encourage others to be bold through Walking Your Talk. The reflections you see in others may not make you happy if  you are doubting yourself andyour right to be. Jealousy on any level only inhibits growth and wastes energy. Shatter the mirrors that insist on self-importance, gloom, or failure so you can get down to what’s really important.

On all levels the Smoking Mirror asks us to accept light and shadow as equal.  The reflectiosn we dislike can be worthy opponents w ho teach us to grow into our potential. Even our shadow sides serve us by leading us through trial and error to the true image of Self.

WITHIN: Teaches you  how to find your heart’s joy and how to be faithful to your truths.  It is also the protector of your sacred space, the place that is yours alone and is never shared except by invitation.

7 SKUNK [SELF RESPECT]: Skunk medicine! This furry little animal has a reputation that contains a great deal of power.  Due to its distinctive behavior, humans give this tiny, smelly creature a wide berth.   The key word here is respect.

Unlike other predatory animals, Skunk doe snot threaten your life but threatens your senses. You know this to be true if you have ever been in the vicinity of its spray.  In observing the habit patterns of Skunk, it is easy to notice that playfulness and nonchalance of its natural behavior. The “I-dare-you” attitude of this four-legged creature commands you, as the observer, so respect its space by mere reputation alone.

Skunk is teaching you that by walking your talk and by respecting yourself, you will create a position of strength and honored reputation.  The carriage of your body relates to others what you believe about yourself.  There is no need to bully, aggravate, torment, or overpower other beings when your sense of “self” is intact.  As with Skunk, the resonant field of energy around your body is relayed through the senses.  Self-esteem permeates the body’s energy, and is instantly recognized on an extrasensory level by others.

Learn to assert, without ego, what you are.  Respect followers.  Your self-respectful attitude will repel those who are not of like mind, and yet will attract those who choose the same pathway.  As the odor of Skunk attracts others of its kind, it repels those who will not respect its space.

Skunk medicine people have the ability to attract others, and they are very charismatic.  At the same time, the other side of their natural power is to repel those who seek to take energy from them without recycling the gifts they have taken.

Skunk medicine people also know how to use the energy flows that will attract a lover.  Some people call this sexual magick, as it is akin to the musk scent that animals secrete to attract a mate. It can be dangerous to leak sexual energy if you are not looking for a mate. It puts you into a games condition that may feed your ego but not how others feel about you. If you are attracting others who have an interest in you, you are in a sense saying, “I’m available.” This can cause hard feelings when the truth comes out. It also leaks energy taht you could have used in a more constructive way.

In Skunk medicine, it is good to learn how to handle energy flows. Modern psychologists call this body language. In tribal teachings, this is your personal medicine which you are showing to others. Use your medicine well, and know that you are known by your reputation. How you use your energy will attract either honor or disgrace. You may want to examine what energy you are putting out that creates your present situation.

If you have chosen this symbol, you are being asked to notice the kinds of people who are attracted to you. If they emulate favorable characteristics, have enough self esteem to recognize those characteristics within yourself. Walk tall and be proud of the accomplishments you have made. Bear in mind that what you believe about yourself is your ultimate protection. Project self-respect!

SACRED PATH

11 NORTH SHIELD (WISDOM/GRATITUDE): Some kind of wisdom is coming your way. You are now being asked to show gratitude for these new understandings in order to continue the growth process. Wisdom is one way in which you can experience the natural order of the universe and how it applies to your life. Wisdom is an inner knowing that cannot be traded, sold, or stolen from you. Knowing is truth that has been experienced. You have learned a lesson and derived from it a sense of Self that will serve you for the rest of your life. The successful completion of this lesson should be marked by prayers of thanksgiving or acknowledged in gratitude. In so doing, you will have completed the circle of the Sacred Hoop and honored the source of that truth. Remember that the gift of wisdom is the heart of the recipient and remains alive as long as it is honored as a blessing.

RIGHT: Guards your male side and teaches you that, no mater where you turn, it will be your father-protector (spirit guide) within.  This animal also carries your courage and warrior spirit.

REVERSED 15 WOLF [TEACHER]: If Wolf is reversed, you are being asked to expand your limited view of the present situation. Doing this may entail a great deal of courage and a willingness to look at new ideas. It could also require that you delete some old ideas to make room for the expansiveness that always comes when you are willing to learn. the gift of wisdom comes you when you have walked enough pathways and found enough dead ends to truly know the forest. In the discovery and rediscovery of every inch of ground comes the knowledge that nothing ever remains the same.

Contrary Wolf may also be telling you that stagnation or fear of asserting your viewpoint has bogged down the flow of change in your life. Wolf reversed is always urging you to seek the teachers or pathfinders that will show you the way to new life experienced. Remember, the teacher or pathfinder may be the small still voice within, as well as a person, a leaf, a cloud, a stone, a tree, a book, or the Great Spirit.

To live is to grow, and growing comes through accepting all the forms as your teachers. Become Wolf, and take up the sense of adventure. You may just stop howling and learn to become the moon.

7 MEDICINE WHEEL [CYCLES/MOVEMENT] The Medicine Wheel card portends a time of cycles and/or movement. You are asked to notice which stage of the cycle you are presently experiencing. Is it the beginning, the creation, the growing time, and developing or end of a cycle? How you look at where you are will assist you in clarifying what it is that you need to do next. Any retreat, hesitation, or stopping has now ended.

With this card you are being put on notice that the stagnation is over and new beginnings have taken root in the present. Don’t get caught in old patterns. Notice which direction on the Medicine Wheel will assist your forward movement and apply that lesson in your life. Your choices are illumination and clarity (East), faithfulness and humility (South), introspection and goals (West), or wisdom and gratitude (North). It is now time to decide for yourself which type of movement will keep the Wheel turning. In all cases, the Medicine Wheel card assures you that life continues.  The quality of the new cycle depends upon you, your actions, and attitudes toward growth.

LEFT: Protector of the Female side and teaches you that you must learn to receive abundance as well as to nurture yourself and others.  The left-side animal is also your teacher about relationships and mothering.

19 BUFFALO [PRAYER/ABUNDANCE]: In the Lakota tradition it was the White Buffalo calf Woman who brought the sacred pipe to the people and taught them to pray. the bowl of the pipe was the receptacle that held tobacco, an herb with male and female medicine. The stem of the pipe represented the male entering the female and seeding life. In the coming together of the male and female, the connection to the divine energy of the great Spirit was made. As the pipe was loaded with tobacco, every family in nature was asked to enter into the pipe and share its medicine as prayer and praise to the heavens. the smoke was considered to be visual prayer, and was very sacred and cleansing.

All animals are sacred, but in many traditions, White Buffalo is the most sacred. The appearance of White Buffalo is a sign that prayers are being heard, that the sacred pipe is being honored, and that the promises of prophesy are being fulfilled. white Buffalo signals a time of abundance and plenty.

Buffalo was the major source of sustenance for the Plains Indians. It gave meat for food, hides for clothing, warm and soft buffalo robes for long winters, and hooves for glue. The medicine for Buffalo is prayer, gratitude and praise for that which has been received. buffalo medicine is also knowing that abundance is present when all relations are honored as sacred, and when gratitude is expressed to every living part of creation.

Because of its desire to give the gifts that its body provided, and because of its willingness to be used on Earth for the highest good before entering the hunting grounds of Spirit. Buffalo did not readily stampede and run from hunters.

To use Buffalo medicine is to smoke the pipe in a sacred manner, and to give praise for the richness of life to be shared with all races, all creatures, all nations, and all life. It means smoking for others so that their needs are met, praying for the good of all things in harmony, and accepting the Great Mystery as a part of that harmony.

If you have drawn the Buffalo card, you may be asked to use your energy in prayer. You may also be called upon to be an instrument of someone else’s answer to a prayer. This cold portend a time of recognizing the sacredness of every walk of life albeit different from your own. To honor another’s pathway, even if it brings you sadness, is a part of the message that Buffalo brings. This may be a time of reconnection to the meaning of life and the value of peace. Most assuredly this time will bring serenity amidst chaos if you pray in earnest for enlightenment and the power of calmness and give praise for the gifts you already have.

Buffalo medicine is a sign that you achieve nothing without the aid of the Great Spirit and that you must be humble enough to ask for that assistance and then be grateful for what you receive.

1. 7 pent-rev-  Magickal spells. We have to understand that what we started on the last new moon (Dec.18) is a spell, where the goal is the XX Judgment etc…Interestingly enough it is still our goal. We still have to keep that in focus as it came up again.
2. 6 cups–  our challenge= Happy memories. Our goal is to live our lives better, happier. 6 of cups is asking us to remember how we felt about life when we were young, full of hope, joy, love, enthusiasm. We can bring this state back, this renewed love for life.
3. 3 wands– The foundation right now is, planning or Putting the plans into action. What we started is the medicine cards readings, this gives us a good understanding of ourselves as where we are this year and what to focus on, improve, work on ourselves. This is where we got the idea with Rune to bring the Shadow Dance book into the full moon workings. This book has a lot of fun, practical exercises how to work with our shadow. We will start at our next Imbolc gathering, so it will be helpful if you guys would bring a notebook for this work.
4. VIII Strength– recent past: In the vampire deck, the picture shows a guy breaking through a car window. I do feel that after not a struggle to understand this XX Judgment, and what it wants from us, we finally had a break-through and even figured out the strategy what and how to do it. (the shadow work, I mean)
5. XX Judgment is still the goal
6. II High Priestess–  we will learn the mysteries, through oracles (cards, i-ching, runes…etc)
7. 7 Swords-rev- we see ourselves as being initiated into these mysteries. Also, the shadow work will require us to be open and honest with ourselves, if we really want to grow and develop.
8. XVI Tower-rev. Our environment . ” Clinging to the structures, which don’t serve us any more. Tower is getting rid of that and rebuild on truth.
9. 6 wands-rev. ,and 4 sword-Hoping that examining our shadow will be peaceful, and not stressful.
10. 10 cups-rev.  Resolution is inner emotional wholeness.
Total: VIII Strength–  need courage and perseverance.
I-Ching:  So now that we want to do this shadow work, what is the advice for the coven, for us?
   # 60 (Limitations)   lines:1 and 5    #7 (The army)
1-line:  This work is very sensitive, and we have to be discreet. I like Confucius’s saying here: ” If germinating things are not handled with discretion, the perfecting of them is impeded.” I think the 7 of Swords = as prudence works well here.
5-line: We need moderation, forcible measures are not needed.
This is in a nut shell. We will talk about it more at a meeting.  BRING YOUR NOTEBOOKS!  :)))))
